A-lines have fitted bodices through the waist and cascade out towards the ground, slightly more flowy than a ball gown and resembling the outline of an uppercase “A.” It is Ideal for all body types and gives you plenty of room to move, dance and interact with your guests.

Mermaid is famous for her extremely fitted through the top chest to the knee, and then flares out close to the knee ideal for brides looking to show off their curves.

Trumpet Gown: Moving on with the list, it’s time for Trumpet Gown. This gown can be said to be an amalgamation of Mermaid and A-line. It gives you fit and flare at the same time. This dress will have a tighter fit through your chest and waist, before flaring out slightly around the knees. A trumpet style is great for brides who are looking to accentuate a small waist and want to show off their curves and still be able to move on the dance floor.

But now it forms one of the major traditional costumes of India. It was introduced into the Indian culture during the Mughal period.

The other distinctive features which make it little different from Ghararas is the skirt, which is divided like a pant fitted till the knee, with a big flare from the knee onwards. Shararas are the party pants of the traditional setup.

GHARARAS: The Gharara dress is a traditional Lucknowi outfit which originated in Awadh region of Uttar Pradesh during the era of the Nawabs. Worn by Muslim women very much similar to Sharara suit it consists of a kurti, a dupatta and most importantly, a pair of wide-legged pants, ruched at the knee (traditionally a gota) so they flare out dramatically at the bottom. The gharara uses lesser fabric than a sharara but some ghararas go for extra flare to make the effect dramatic.
